GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTED SYMPOSIA
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Welcome to the IAGG-ER 2011 Congress Symposia Submission web-site.

Symposia Organizers should have received the Symposium ID Code that must be used by the Speakers to insert their final abstracts.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO SUBMIT THE FULL VERSION OF THE SYMPOSIUM WITHIN 30TH SEPTEMBER 2010.

A - Submission Procedure (for Symposium organizer)

Abstract submission is FREE OF CHARGE.

Abstract must be submitted on-line via www.iaggbologna2011.com. No faxed or e-mailed abstracts will be accepted. Abstracts successfully submitted will be reviewed by experts in the selected category (Topic). The Scientific Committee will use these evaluations to develop the congress programme.

To submit your abstracts, a password is required. If you are already registered, please insert your UserName and Password to enter; if not, please ask for a Password here below.

Very important: in order to prevent loss of data (that could be caused by several people accessing the on-line submission form), the password provided is strictly personal and is reserved only for the Symposium organizer. In no case, this password should be forwarded to the Speakers.

The submission of abstracts will be done exclusively on-line by the Symposium organizer.
It is the responsibility of the Symposium organizer to centralize all the abstracts and submit them by the required deadline via the on-line submission link.
The main organizer will be able to update or revise the submission at any time before the final deadline (30 September 2010) by returning to the online submission form.

Please send the first version of the abstract within 30 June 2010.
The first version of the Symposium must contain:

  1. Suggested Speakers (max. 4 for each Symposium)
  2. Suggested Chairs (max. 2 for each Symposium)
  3. Title of the Symposium
  4. One collective abstract about the Symposium’s theme.

After the Scientific Committee official acceptance, which will be sent within 30 July 2010, the Symposium organizer will receive an ID Code to identify the Symposium that could be used by the Speakers to insert their final abstracts (one for each Speaker).
The Symposium organizer is obliged to send on-line the full version of the Symposium before 30 September 2010.

Acceptance of the abstract is subdued to the Congress Registration of all Symposia Speakers and Chairs.

B - Abstract format (for Speakers)

For standardization, please note that the text should not exceed 2.500 characters (author's details, headers, text, punctuation and spaces included). Insert the title and the abstract text in the fields: we suggest you to "Copy and Paste" the abstract text from a saved document file, please avoid to type the text directly in the boxes, you have only 20 minutes at your disposal.

Only one Topic is allowed.
Abstracts must be submitted in English only and in a plain text format (no tables, graphs, charts or images).

The abstract should be structured into the following 8 sections:

a. Symposium ID Code
b. Abstract title
c. Background
d. Objectives
e. Methods
f. Results
g. Conclusions
h. References

Please do not insert any title for sections (es. Conclusions); titles will be added automatically on the printed version. We suggest you to "Copy and Paste" the abstract text from a saved document file (please avoid to type the text here directly: you have only 20 minutes at your disposal).

Please remember that no graphs or images can be included.

Please note that the system will only save the latest version submitted and delete all previous ones.

Please ensure that your abstract does not contain spelling, grammatical or scientific errors, as it will be reproduced exactly as submitted. No proofreading will be done.

C - Number of abstracts

The number of abstracts is limited to one per paper (i.e. presentation title). In case your Symposium includes joint presentations (e.g. 2 Speakers presenting one paper), only one abstract is to be submitted.

An abstract should not be submitted if it has been identically presented on a previous occasion.
Submitted abstracts can not be re-edited and modified after the submission.

D - Submission confirmation

If your submitted abstract has been accepted by the system, you will receive a confirmation number. If no confirmation number is received, the abstract cannot be considered as successfully submitted.

After the Scientific Committee official acceptance, the Symposium organizer is obliged to send on-line the full version of the Symposium before 30 September 2010.

Abstracts of papers submitted will be published in a supplement of "AGING CLINICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH". Accepted abstracts will also be available on-line on the Congress web-site, about one month prior to the congress and thereafter in the IAGG-ER Abstracts archives on the web-site.

The submission of an abstract constitutes a formal commitment by the presenting Author to present the abstract (if accepted) in the session and at the time assigned by the IAGG-ER Scientific Committee. We therefore recommend that submitters of abstracts register for the Congress simultaneously with abstract submission.

Abstracts not adhering to these guidelines will be rejected. If you do not agree with any of these rules, you should not submit an abstract. The final decision about acceptance of an abstract will be taken by the IAGG-ER Scientific Committee.

If you need to withdraw your abstract, a written statement reflecting the reasons for this decision must be sent to the IAGG-ER Congress Secretariat not later than 30 June 2010.

E - Disclosure of interest:

It is the intend of IAGG-ER to provide high-quality sessions focused on educational content that is free from commercial influence or bias. Thus, the submitting author of an abstract is requested to declare any potential conflicts of interest for all authors during the abstracts submission.
